A Winter Wonderland
Please join us as we celebrate three incredible TKAE families.
Linda and Richard Gendler
The Gendlers, married for twenty-six years, chose to make Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El their home when they began their family in 1996. TKAE has been a part of their family’s lives since that time. From baby namings to bar and bat mitzvahs, their children, Justin (23) and Brittany (19), both attended TKAE’s early childhood program and day school. Linda grew up in Plantation, attended religious school at TKAE and was bat mitzvahed by Rabbi Harr. Rick grew up in North Miami Beach where he was bar mitzvahed and attended Hebrew day school.
Both Linda and Rick have taken active roles in the Temple’s leadership for many years. Linda has been a member of the Temple’s board, executive board, Gala chair and is a proud past recipient of the Temple’s prestigious President’s Award. Rick currently serves on the TKAE Executive Board as Vice President of Rituals, regularly delivers D’var Torah and leads the yearly Yom Kippur afternoon study session.
When Linda and Rick are not tending to TKAE business, Rick serves as a full-time Professor of Law and Ethics at the Florida Atlantic University College of Business, as well as a part-time special magistrate for Palm Beach County, while Linda serves as the Business Development Coordinator for Dream Dinners Sunrise.
Linda and Rick both agree without question, that being members of the Temple has enriched their lives completely. In times of happiness and during times of sorrow, it is their TKAE family that has always been there.
Denis and Linda Trupkin
Growing up in Miami, Linda and Denis met at Coral Gables High School. Now after 52 years of marriage, they have been blessed with three daughters: Jennifer (and Wayne Pollak), Abby (and Gregg Wilentz), Madelyn (and Michael Herzfeld) and eight grandchildren.
In 1973, after joining a small group in a trailer off Nob Hill Rd. was just the beginning of an enriching part of their family lives. Circle of life events have intertwined with the temple all these years. From nursery school to Bar and Bas Mitzvahs, Confirmations to marriages, their children and grandchildren are part of temple life.
Denis served on the board (that made the decision to acquire the land which now happily will help provide security for the temple’s future). Linda served in early years as Principal of the religious school.
Linda’s mother, Shirley Berger, will celebrate her 99th birthday with a blessing from Rabbi Harr, her rabbi for almost 45 years.
So four generations have been blessed with TKAE.
Joseph and Adriana Zevuloni
Joseph, President and CEO of the Zevuloni Group of companies, is a passionate advocate for the US - Israel relationship and the Jewish community. Joseph uses his powerful social media platform to create a whole army of online Hasbara Fighters to combat anti-semitism, he puts out campaigns to defeat the BDS movement and fights hatred anywhere it may exist. He initiates on a weekly basis different campaigns to remove anti-semitic products from online stores, he encourages and promotes buying Israeli-made products after hate filled calls to boycott Israel are made and takes action where action is needed.
After the terrorist attack at Pulse nightclub Joseph arranged a campaign and traveled to Orlando to personally deliver the Jewish and Israeli community’s condolences to the families. During the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting attack he was there with a whole army distributing food and cold beverages to families and first responders. And for the third year in a row, Joseph leads the community efforts in the annual YOM HAATZMAUT festival right here at Temple Kol Ami Emanu-El. Joseph says he could not do it without the loving support of his wife, family and this wonderful community.
