The Mishnah stipulates that formal Jewish education starts at five years old but never says when it should be over… Jewish learning is a lifetime journey. The sage Ben Bag Bag used to say about learning our sacred texts: “Turn it over, and [again] turn it over, for all is therein. And look into it; And become gray and old therein; And do not move away from it, for you have no better portion than it” (Pirkei Avot 5:22).
