Hineni Shabbat
Dear Friends,
We are a few weeks away from a special Shabbat, The Hineni Shabbat – ‘I am present’ Shabbat in the lives of Holocaust survivors. The idea of this Shabbat was born as a way to honor our survivors and celebrate their lives. Usually, we remember the survivors during Yom Hashoah when we invite them to come and share their stories. During Hineni Shabbat we will celebrate and honor and be present in their lives on this special evening. The intention of Hineni Shabbat is to simply bring survivors a sense of joy and community.
We are delighted that the number of survivors joining us for this Shabbat service and dinner keeps growing and we are looking for families to sponsor one Holocaust survivor each for this special event. When you sponsor a survivor at $36.00, you will help pay for their meal during this special evening.
During the Shabbat service, some of our children will be singing songs and reading some special poems to celebrate their lives. Following the service, we will all enjoy a special dinner. Following services, you will have the opportunity to sit with them and enjoy dinner as a community together.
From generation to generation we are commanded to remember, but also to honor life. Help us honor our survivors, next week, on November 4, 2022.
Please, review the flyer below for more info.
L’shalom,
Rabbi Uri and Cantor Mark
