Discover our youth program, where fun and learning converge in an exhilarating a new program tailored for 7th through 12th graders! Hebrew High meets twice a month for educational and social activities (KAFTY & PRE-KAFTY) with dinner. Hebrew Tutorial offers extra Hebrew practice for 7th graders. MIT Leadership classes will replace Good Deeds in Action monthly during Hebrew High. TKAE on the World is a volunteer day for 9th – 12 graders to earn community service hours. Out of this World is a monthly offsite activity for 6th-12th graders. For more details, refer to the indicated pages on the Table of Contents.

Hebrew High

Hebrew High is our new youth program for teens in grades 7-12. Meeting twice a month on Sundays, Hebrew High offers a blend of social and educational activities. The night starts with either a Pre-KAFTY (7th & 8th grade) and KAFTY(9th – 12th grade) social activity or an educational activity, with dinner together as one big group separating the two activities. Each Hebrew High event attended will earn you an $18 credit towards your end-of-year trip.If you attend two per month, you’ll earn $36 monthly, totaling $324 for the year.

7th graders will also have the opportunity to enroll in Hebrew Tutorial, an additional tutoring program where they can further learn and practiceHebrew in preparation for their upcoming B’nai & B’not mitzvahs.

Each Hebrew High event attended will earn you an $18 credit towards your end-of-year trip.

Delve into meaningful discussions, deepen your understanding of Jewish teachings, and engage in thoughtful reflection as you prepare for this significant milestone in your spiritual journey. These pre confirmation classes explore our rich heritage and help to strengthen your connection to Judaism.

Jewish Ethical Debates

A stimulating series of programs where you can delve into Jewish ethical debates alongside our Clergy. Explore thought- provoking topics, engage in respectful discussions, and deepen your understanding of Jewish values and teachings. These sessions offer a unique opportunity to wrestle with ethical
dilemmas, gain new perspectives, and strengthen your moral compass within our supportive community environment. This enriching experience to grow spiritually and intellectually in dialogue with our clergy is available to all 11th-12th graders.

Fellowship: Israel

Dive into a series of dynamic fellowship programs tailored for high school students, aimed at deepening your understanding and appreciation of Israel. Led by passionate leaders, these engaging sessions offer interactive discussions and cultural explorations that illuminate Israel’s vibrant history, society, and modern-day impact. Embark on an enlightening journey of learning and personal growth, as we discover together our shared heritage and connection to Israel..

MIT

MIT Leadership: Eager to make a difference and develop leadership skills? Join our MIT Leadership Training Program! This two-year series combines leadership training with monthly volunteer activities, helping you grow and contribute to the community.

Learn to be a Jewish leader your way—volunteer at TKAE, assist at Religious School, or plan events. Build confidence, make new friends, and become a young leader. MITs must complete monthly volunteer opportunities at TKAE to graduate and become Madrichim.

Out of this World

Out of this world is a monthly offsite adventure for 6th through 12th graders, where we whisk them away from the temple to explore exciting activities beyond our usual surroundings.

These exciting outings will combine thrilling activities with meaningful experiences for our Jewish tweens and teens.

Get ready to explore the universe and engage in fun activities that will not only strengthen friendships but also deepen your understanding of our cultural and spiritual heritage. From thrilling adventures to relaxing outings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

TKAE on the World:

TKAE on the world is a volunteer day for KAFTY, providing students with the opportunity to give back to the community and make a positive impact on the world. During these events, students participate in various service projects, gaining community service hours. It’s a chance for teens to develop a sense of responsibility and compassion while working together to help those in need. Here students not only fulfill their school requirements by gaining community service hours but also strengthen their connection to Jewish values and their commitment to tikkun olam (repairing the world). At the end of the year students who attend all 5 events will have earned 30 community service hours.
