Rabbi Mark Goldman
Senior Cantor
Born and raised in London, England, Rabbi Mark Goldman grew up immersed in the modern Orthodox Jewish community. After high school, he spent his gap year studying at Yeshivat HaKotel in Jerusalem, deepening his connection to Torah and Israel. He went on to earn an Honours B.A. in Judaic Studies from the London School of Jewish Studies and became the youngest person ever to receive ministerial certification from the Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom.
He later earned a Master of Music in Performance and Literature from the prestigious Eastman School of Music. His unique blend of musical and spiritual gifts has taken him to pulpits and concert stages around the world—including a performance at the Vatican.
After emigrating to the United States, Mark served as Senior Cantor at Temple Beth El in Rochester, NY. For the past 30 years, he has served as the Senior Cantor of Temple Kol Ami, and now as Co-Senior Clergy of Broward Central Synagogue. In 2023, he was ordained as a rabbi by the Academy for Jewish Religion and is a member of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
Rabbi Mark has held national leadership roles, including serving on the Board of the Union for Reform Judaism and as President of the American Conference of Cantors—the world’s largest professional body of cantors.
He currently serves as Executive Director of the Institute of Jewish Knowledge and Learning (IJKL), South Florida’s largest virtual center for Jewish adult education, offering weekly classes, lectures and events to a community of over 2,000 participants.
A proud Zionist and passionate educator, Rabbi Mark is widely recognized for his ability to bridge timeless Jewish values with today’s most pressing issues in meaningful and creative ways. You can follow his regular teachings and reflections on Instagram and Facebook (@markgfll).
